24 hour monitoring of bandwidth
consumption is a critical component of ShawneeLink's
goal to provide excellent quality of service to its
customers. Industry standards state that using a 5 to
1 in to out bandwidth ratio provides adequate bandwidth
for most business needs. ShawneeLink believes that rather
than rely upon industry standards, bandwidth monitoring
is a better indicator of bandwidth needs. For planning
purposes, ShawneeLink uses historical bandwidth consumption
from real world experiences to estimate bandwidth requirements.
ShawneeLink then monitors bandwidth to ensure that customers
have the amount of bandwidth they require, when they
need it.
Network Monitoring
ShawneeLink Corporation is completely
"proactive versus reactive" in the sense of
network monitoring. Every piece of equipment contained
within our network is monitored 24 hours per day. If
a piece of equipment is unavailable or off-line, our
key network personnel are paged immediately. This page
will identify the equipment that is not responding,
allowing the network staff to determine a course of
action.
