ShawneeLink has long been rejecting
some e-mail thought to contain a virus, worm, or trojan
by performing a check on specific information in the initial
e-mail tranmission.
Clients with machines that are infected may have a problem
sending valid e-mail if the virus, worm, or trojan is
trying to send itself out at the same time.
We are seeing a surge in rejections of the W32/Maldal.c@MM
worm that came out on 12/19/01. If you opened an attachment
called "Christmas.exe", your machine may be vulnerable.
If you are having a problem sending e-mail and you have
been advised that our servers are functioning normally,
it is suggested that you check your machine for any of
the latest viruses. This may require that you update your
anti-virus engine (program) and/or dat files (virus definition
information).
