Edwin Ira Austin, son of the late Albert and Martha Brown
Austin was born February 9, 1894 and passed away February 27,
1958 in the Massac Memorial Hospital at Metropolis at the age
of 64 years and 18 days.
Mr. Austin was born and raised at Glendale.He had made his home
in the vicinity of Simpson for the last 22 years. In 1932 he
was married to Lottie Wells and to this union were born three
daughters, Priscilla Hilton, Flo Dunning and Maxine Belford, all
of Waukegan. He also has a son, Justin Ira, by a previous marriage
who makes his home in Florida and two step-children, Everett Palmer
of Simpson and Cleo Glaw of Texas, whom he loved as his own.
He and his wife were converted and baptized into the fellowship
of the County Line Baptist Church. He leaves many friends and
loved ones who will never forget his kind, loving ways. He could
never do enough for his wife and children or any one in need of
help.
Surviving, to mourn his passing, are his wife; four children;
two step-children and eleven grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at 1:00 p. m. at Buchanan Funeral Home
at Golconda with the Rev. Elbert Elam officiating. Burial was
at Mt. Zion cemetery.
