SHADE AUSTIN
Shade Austin, aged 75, a native and well-known over this county,
died
Saturday morning at the home of his son in Herrin, where he had
been
visiting a few weeks. Mr. Austin made his home in recent years
in
Carrier Mills. His wife died in that city three years ago.
Four sons and a daughter survive: Mrs. Julia Russell at New Castle,
south of Carrier Mills, C. H. Austin, of Carrier Mills, Thos.
Austin of
Walnut Grove and Loren and Earl, of Herrin.
The body was brought to Zion church Sunday, the funeral taking
place
there, the service being attended by a large concourse of relatives
and
friends.
