Von Tungeln, Anna Catherine Welhelmina Manson
Anna Catherine Welhelmina Manson, born Aug. 24, 1854, at
Hanover, Germany; died May 1, 1919, at her home, near Waltersburg,
Ill., aged 74 years, 8 months and 7 days.
She came to the United States in 1872, and was united in marriage
to Henry Gerhardt Von Tungeln, at Waltersburg, in 1873.
To this union were born 7 children, 2 of which preceded her to
the great beyond. There are left to mourn her death a husband
and 5 children: Mrs. P. W. Sistler, Mrs. Andy Walter, Heio, John
and George Von Tungeln. There are 2 brothers: George and M. H.
Manson. Also, 8 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and
friends.
She was confirmed and taken into the German Lutheran Church in
Germany at age 14. Upon coming to America she became associated
with the German M. E. Church in Waltersburg, where she lived a
devoted Christian life.
Funeral services were held at the German M. E. Church at Waltersburg,
by Rev. Thomas Isaac, after which the remains were laid to rest
in the church cemetery.

Grisham-Uncle Gerhardt Von Tungeln is staying with his
daughter, at Waltersburg.
Grisham-Death entered the home of Mr. Gerhardt Von Tungeln
and took his wife, Aunt Kake, as we all called her. Her children
were all present at the time of her death, except Mrs. Sistler,
who was unable to attend.
Waltersburg-Heio Von Tungeln and family of Rising Sun spent
Sunday at John L. Walther's.
Waltersburg-Mr. and Mrs. Mack Ellis of Rising Sun spent
Sunday at John L. Walther's.
Waltersburg-Miss Mollie Volle has been staying with the
family of Pete Sistler, near Rising Sun, the past few weeks.
Waltersburg-John Von Tungeln, spent Sunday night with his
sister, Mrs. Andy Walther, and returned to his home in Rison,
Ark., Monday.
The following found in July 31, 1919 issue:
Waltersburg-Clara Schoettle spent a few days with her sister,
Mrs. Heio Von Tungeln, near Rising Sun, last week.
