Arthur L. Chester
Arthur L. Chester was born on January 23, 1880 and departed
this life on October 18, 1962 at the age of 82 years.
On March 31, 1907 he was joined in holy matrimony to Myranda Lands
who is now left to mourn the passing of this, her beloved companion.
To this union two children were born. Left to mourn the passing
of their blessed father is one son, Wayne of Simpson and one daughter,
Mrs. Wilma Lawrence of Vienna.
He is further survived by three sisters, Lizzie Morris of Creal
Springs, Illinois; Emma Sawyer of Denver, Colo., and Roxie Barger
of Lincoln, Neb.; three grandchildren, Judy Chester, Jeanette
and Chester Lawrence; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Two sisters, Rilda Lay and Mary Jackson and two brothers, Walter
and Roy Chester have preceded him in death.
Born and raised in Johnson County, he came in contact with many
who became his lifelong friends. Now they feel the grave loss
of a loved one.
To his family he was an inspiration. He was forever a faithful
companion and devoted father.
During his lifetime he accepted the promises of God the Father
for life everlasting and was a member of the Glendale Methodist
Church. In later life he transferred his membership to the Taylor
Methodist Church where he continued to serve his church and his
God.
It was here that he increased with God in His commandments and
radiated the Spiritof the Father in Heaven throughout his lifetime.
As man born of woman has but a short time to live, this child
of God has now departed to receive his eternal judgment for a
life well lived.
Blessed be the name of Arthur L. Chester.
