James Hogeland
James Hogeland was born in Posey County, Ind., July 4, 1866;
Departed this life, Nov. 21, 1935, age 69 years, 4 months and
17 days.
Both mother and father were called to the great beyond while James
was a small child. Being an orphan he shifted for himself. His
early life was spent in Posey county, Ind. While a young man
he came to Illinois where his life was spent.
In 1894 he was united in marriage to Miss Prudy Riley. Ten children
were born to this union, five preceding their father in death.
About five years ago Mr. Hogeland and his wife united with the
Baptist church at Bay City. At the time of his departure he lived
in Golconda, where he was a fisherman by trade. The last few
months Mr. Hogeland was unable to take charge of his work on account
of ill health.
Those surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Prudy Hogeland, five children
-Ben, of Brookport, Ill., James, Detroit, Mich., Cecil, Golconda,
Henry, Golconda, and Mrs. Hazel Wayland, Golconda, and ten grandchildren.
