Sarah Elizabeth Baker
Sarah Elizabeth Baker, daughter of James and Sarah Poindexter,
was born in Pope county, near Bay City, Ill., Oct. 2, 1868, departed
this life Oct. 6, 1939, at the age of 71 years and 4 days. She
was married to Thomas Baker, of Smithland, Ky., in 1893. To this
union were born three children, one son, Felix Boyd Baker, of
Chrisney, Ind.; two daughters, Bertha Ramage, of Detroit, and
Ollie, deceased.
She united with the Blooming Grove Missionary Baptist church near
Birdsville, Kr., in 1903 where she remained a member until death.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Thomas Baker, one son and one
daughter, two sisters, Mrs. J. O. Williamson, of Golconda and
Mrs. Nettie Maxey, of Caruthersville, Mo., two brothers, William
Poindexter, of Paragould, Ark., and Barnie Poindexter, of Freedonia,
Ky., eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of friends.
