Jewell Palmer Fowler

Jewell, the youngest daughter of Joe and Sarah Palmer, was born in Simpson Springs District, Nov. 5, 1915, and passed away October 8, 1959, at the age of 43 years, eleven months and three days. She received her early training and schooling at Simpson Springs. Early in life she met her Saviour and she and her first husband, Joe Williams, worked in the Simpson Springs Baptist church. She lost her first husband, Joe Williams, by drowning. This brought great sorrow and grief. Later she was married to Grant Fowler and to this union two sons were born, Billy and Micky. Grant Fowler passed away some two years ago.
After the passing of Grant, she remained in East Peoria, Illinois so that she might be more able to support her two sons, therefore she was separated from her brothers and sisters.
She passed away at East Peoria after an automobile accident which makes her untimely passing all the harder to understand.
She leaves to mourn her passing her two sons, Billy and Micky, two brothers, Edd and Willie Palmer, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Lawrence and Mrs. Myrtle Robinson, all of Simpson, and another sister, Mrs. Gladys Steagall, of Antigo, Wis.
She was a loving mother, a kind and thoughtful sister and a good neighbor. Other relatives are her nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 11, at the Glendale Methodist Church, with the Rev. Floyd Stout officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Aly Funeral Service, Eddyville, in charge of arrangement.
