Willie Elmer Lands

Willie Elmer Lands, the son of George W. and Martha Lands, was born in Pope County, Illinois, on May 28, 1893 and departed this life April 24, 1951, at the age of 57 years, ten months and 26 days.
In the year of 1915 was married to Lenora Flick and was the father of an only child, a daughter. He was a farmer, loved the life of farming and so long as health permitted he worked early and late to cultivate and harvest.
Willie Lands was shy and retiring by nature but honest and sincere. For the past three years a serious heart condition forced him to depend on those of his family who tenderly cared for him.
Many years ago he professed faith in his meek and humble way served his Lord and Master.
Those of his beloved family who survive are his wife, Lenora, a daughter, Doris and son-in-law, Ezra Potts of whom he was very proud; two brothers, Ezra of Dixon, Ill., and Edmond of Golconda, and one sister, Lillie Jaco of Cottage Hill, Ill., many other relatives and a host of friends are saddened by his sudden passing.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Matthew Roberts, were held Thursday afternoon, April 26, from the Rottman Funeral chapel, Golconda, followed by burial in the Sulphur Springs cemetery.
