(P. Berry) Kerley Dies July 31
Ralph U. (P. Berry) Kerley, age 73, of Rt.
1, Vienna, died at his home Thursday, July 31, 1975.
He was born November 15, 1901 in Simpson, Illinois, the son of
Cready and Leora Hamilton Kerley. He was married to Thelma Doms,
who preceded him in death several years ago. He later married
Thelma Holt, who preceded him in death in 1960.
Mr. Kerley is survived by a daughter, Virginia Kerley, address
unknown; a son, Bobby Gene Kerley of Herrin, Illinois; six grandsons;
three sisters, Mary Baker of West Frankfort, Bonnie Hazel and
Ruth Kerley, both of Simpson.
A son, Ralph Edward Kerley, preceded him in death.
Mr. Kerley was a blacksmith and farmer and a veteran of the Army,
having served during World War II. He attended the Flatwoods
Public School.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 2, 1975 at 1:00 p.m.
at Mount-Rodgers and Whitnel Funeral Home, Vienna. Rev. John
L. Cox officiated. Interment was in Rock Springs Cemetery.
