Hifsey Kerley Watkins, daughter of John
R. and Mary Roe Kerley, was born near Simpson, Ill., January 30,
1882, and departed this life June 27, 1969, at the age of 87 years,
4 months, and 27 days.
On October 9, 1898, she was married to James Eli Watkins. To
this union five daughters were born, Chloe, Essie and Annie, who
preceded her in death, also her companion, who died June 12, 1940.
Two daughters, Della Sharp, Simpson, Ill., with whom she made
her home and Pauline Whiteside of Murrayville, Ill., survive to
mourn her passing, also thirteen grandchildren, forty-five great
grandchildren and one great - great grandson, also many other
relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
