Mrs. Mary Kluge
On Monday afternoon, Feb 22d, 1926, Mrs.
Mary Kluge was summoned to her eternal home, and her passing left
many bleeding hearts, for her friends were legion. The end came
after months of suffering. through all of which she retained
that sweet, serene disposition that characterized her life, and
was a part of her very makeup. Like a rare flower
.
Mrs. Kluge was the mother of eleven children, four of whom, with
her companion, preceded her in death. The surviving children
are: Carl, of Linden, Tex.; Mrs. R. R. Ridenhour of Columbus,
O.; Oscar, of San Francisco, Calif.; Frank, of Portsmouth, Va.;
Harry and Miss Ruth, of Golconda; Robert, of Columbus, O. Her
companion, F. C. Kluge, died May 16, 1921.
Mrs. Kluge's five sons were in the service of their country in
the World War, and we dare say that her unfaltering faith and
prayers were the unseen force that shielded them in time of danger,
and spared them the fate of many less fortunate.
The funeral took place from the late residence yesterday afternoon,
interment being made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Rev. Carl Rutz,
of West Frankfort, officiated.
