Edward Sharp, age 68, a resident of rural
Simpson, Illinois, died Thursday, April 6, 1978 at Western Baptist
Hospital, Paducah, KY.
He was born July 6, 1909 in Indiana, the son of Charles H. and
Anna Webster Sharp. On October 21, 1933, he was married to Della
Watkins, who survives. Mrs. Sharp is the Simpson correspondent
for the TIMES.
Mr. Sharp is also survived by one daughter, Wanda Florey of Windsor,
Illinois; one son, Euel Sharp of Simpson; six grandchildren; one
sister, Catherine Fuller of Milan, Michigan and two brothers,
Carl Sharp of Vienna and Bill Sharp of Milan, Michigan.
Mr. Sharp was a retired employee of the University of Illinois
Ag center at Dixon Springs. He was a member of the Rock Springs
Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 9, 1978 at 1 p.m. at
Aly Funeral Home, Vienna. Elder Paul Kerley officiated. Burial
was in Rock Springs cemetery.
Aly Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
