William N. Adams
William N. Adams, son of T. J. and Mantha Adams, was born in Pope County,
Illinois, November 20, 1888; departed this life at his home in East St.
Louis, Illinois, December 6, 1939, at the age of 51 years and sixteen
days.
He was married to Hettie Rodgers, of Rock, Illinois, June 15, 1918, at
Jonesboro, Illinois. To this union one son and one daughter were born,
Norvan E. and Vivian, both of East St. Louis, Illinois.
During the World War he was called to the service of his country for more
than one year of which most of it was spent in France.
His life was one of few words and many good deeds for his fellowmen, and
especially for his family to whom he gave himself in self-sacrificing
love, his final thoughts and utterances before passing away concerning
the welfare of his loved ones.
He was converted at an early age, living an upright, Christian life.
Left to mourn his passing besides his wife, son and daughter, are the
following: one brother, James Adams, of East St. Louis, Illinois; four
sisters, namely,: Mrs. Anna Duncan, Simpson, Illinois; Mrs. Hattie Skerlock,
of Grey Bull, Wyoming; Mrs. Lottie Miller, of Chicago, Illinois; and Mrs.
Mollie Grover, of Parker, Illinois.
He was laid to rest December 9th at Mt. Zion cemetery, Pope County, Illinois,
with Rev. Elmer Smith conducting and military services by American Legion.

He was a brother-in-law to Mr. and Mrs. Mack Ellis. The bereaved relatives
