LOUISA DITTERLINE
Louisa Smith Ditterline, daughter of J.J. and
Amy Bazar Smith, was born
at Rosebud, Ill., on October 14, 1888, and departed this life on
Friday, August 19, 1966, at the Massac Memorial Hospital, Metropolis,
Ill., at the age of 78 years, 10 months and five days.
She was united in marriage to Charles A. Mix in
August, 1907,
who preceded her in death in March 1912. To this union two daughters
were born: Beatrice Shoemaker, Vienna, Ill. and Verda Ragan, Grantsburg
Il. She was again united in marriage on October 14, 1912 to V. L.
(Pete) Ditterline, Grantsburg, IL, and to this union seven children were
born: Phyllis Ditterline, Grantsburg, IL, Rillis Ditterline, Aroma
Park, Il., Amy Wright, Grantsburg, Il., Hollace Ditterline, Gary, Ind.,
Lowell Ditterline, Robbs, and Carolyn Jennings of Vienna, IL. A son,
Vessa Neal preceded her in death. Mrs. Ditterline was the last of a
family of 10 children.
She was converted in 1922 and joined the Pleasant Valley Baptist
Church of which she remained an active member as long as her health
permitted.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her companion, V. L. (Pete)
Ditterline; eight children; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and
a host of other relatives and friends.

Your reward is overdue
Because you toiled so faithfully
Your happiness now renew.
Our parting here is painful,
But Oh the joy to know
We'll meet you soon in Heaven
When our time is done here below.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday,
August. 15,
conducted by the Rev. John L. Cox, with burial in the Hazel Cemetery,
Dixon Springs. Aly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
