Frozen Cascades

Most people visit the parks and trails in the warm weather. My husband, Earl and I ventured out one cold winter and found a beautiful Winter Wonderland a few miles from home. The only sound we heard was the sound of the ice creaking in the wind. This photo was taken at Burden Falls north of Eddyville, IL. After a flash flood, the water cascaded over the rocks into the frigid air and had frozen into a spectacular formation.
